Did you know?

  • Historical records about air conditioning can be found as early as 1758 – but the type of systems we know today were first invented in the early 1900s by Willis Carrier.
  • Every time you go into a big box store, the giant refrigerators are kept running by a HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic. If these systems shut down, it can cost a retailer thousands of dollars in spoiled products.
  • Most of us go in and out of climate controlled environments without thinking about how it is maintained – until there is a problem.  Vulnerable elderly and young people can get very sick in climates that are not air conditioned.
  • HVAC/Refrigeration mechanics ensure air doesn’t become stagnant – which can raise the risk of communicative airborne illnesses.
